PAUL RAWLINGS-JACKSON
It is with great sadness that we must inform you of the untimely death on 20 October of our former friend and colleague Paul Rawlings-Jackson.
Many of you will remember Paul as he travelled the country delivering coach education courses for the membership. Prior to joining TTS Paul enjoyed a long and very successful career as a Physical Education Teacher and Lecturer. Following retirement from the PE world, Paul joined the Board of Table Tennis Scotland in July 2010 and served with distinction until July 2019.
Paul died peacefully in the arms of his wife Kim who is happy to share the following tribute with us:
“We were in Spain when Paul was diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer in May of 2022. He remained well until six weeks ago when his chemotherapy was withdrawn as the cancer which was very aggressive had spread widely. Unfortunately, there was nothing more that could be done for him surgically or medically so Paul chose to undertake palliative sedation to alleviate his pain and symptoms. He slipped away peacefully and without pain in my arms at 1.55pm on Friday 20 October.
He was extremely positive and brave throughout his illness demonstrating what a true champion he was. A much loved and respected man by all who knew him, he will be truly missed by myself, his family and his many friends and acquaintances.
RIP Mr Paul Rawlings-Jackson, 14.01.1953- 20.10.2023. Always in our hearts.
Kim Rawlings-Jackson”
