John H. Munn. 17/5/27 – 24/10/19
After an accident in Malta a few weeks ago, John finally gave up the fight and passed away with the family by his bedside.
He played with Anchor Recreation Club and Mearns British Legion throughout the 60’s and 70’s, featuring prominently in the second division in the 70’s including a second place in the players averages. He also continued playing competitively into the 80’s.
With an agile mind capable of tremendous wit and recall, John’s 92 years is proof positive that table tennis can help you live a long and happy life, and every time I chatted with him this was obvious.
He is survived by his wife Lesley who is soon to celebrate her ninetieth birthday, son Keith, daughters Marion and Alison, grandchildren Kirsty, Shona, Audrey & Rhona.
This photograph was taken recently at Drumchapel Table Tennis Club where he was well known by Terry McLernon MBE and many of the players.
