About us

Dunlop Table Tennis Club was founded in 2020 and has grown to a group of over 70 members. We offer Table Tennis to people of all ages with our youngest member being only 6 and the oldest 77! Our main goal is to make our wider community more active. We are an inclusive club that brings together people of all ages within the community regardless of their abilities. We are currently running 4 sessions / week and offer a range of social events to our members. We are affiliated to the East Ayrshire Sports Council, Table Tennis Scotland and Ayrshire Sportsability. We also compete in the West of Scotland Table Tennis League.

Dunlop Table Tennis Club is committed to make a significant impact on local communities in East Ayrshire by expanding table tennis opportunities and promoting active lifestyles.

About the role

This new role has been established to grow the participation in Table Tennis within the Annick area. The appointed Development Officer will drive and oversee the club’s project plan with the goal to:

– Create a new ‘Satellite Club’ in either Stewarton, Fenwick or Kilmaurs to increase / improve the provision within that community
– Investigate future satellite club presence in the other 2 communities
– Collaborate with Active Schools East Ayrshire to create more opportunities for children to play
– Add further sessions in Dunlop to increase capacity for members (new and existing) to play our sport
– Develop a volunteer programme to support the expansion of the club activity
– Deliver new disability sessions in connection with the Table Tennis Scotland initiative with Scottish Disability Sport

The role directly reports to the Club Chairman.

We are aiming to make the Development Officer a permanent role at our club. The selected candidate will be provided training (Child Protection, First Aid, Disability Inclusion, Fundraising and a Level 1 coaching certificate).

The candidate must have the right to work in the UK and undergo a PVG check with Disclosure Scotland.

Dunlop Table Tennis Club is committed to our diversity and inclusiveness. We encourage all qualified applicants regardless of race, colour, nationality, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, disability or age to apply.

About you

The role would suit an individual who has a passion to deliver consistent and exceptional programmes. With a ‘can do’ attitude, the ideal candidate must be able to work on their own initiative, and as part of a team. Knowledge of Table Tennis is desirable, but not essential.
