Introduction to Table Tennis Award This is a three hour course aimed at those who aim to help, suitable for teachers/coaches in a school/club situation. Course involves basic strokes/fun games/ rules/instructing practices. This is an attendance course and is certificated by Table Tennis Scotland.

Level 1 Session Coach qualification will provide learners with the necessary skills to be able to plan and deliver basic table tennis coaching activities/sessions.

Level 2 Lead Coach is a three day course aimed at coaches wanting to become club coaches working with intermediate players. Course involves intermediate/ advanced skills and various practices/video analysis/coaching intermediate groups and one to one session

Level 3 Head Coach is aimed at a coach operating as a Head Coach and is run by Table Tennis England, The course involves two weekends and a logbook recording your coaching process with a targeted group over nine months. It is tutored by Gloucstershire University staff and additional relevant modules are offered.

Table Tennis Scotland will shortly offer a range of CPD opportunities in order to encourage coach development and keep coaching qualifications current.

LEVEL 1 SESSION COACH

This is a 2 day course, day 1 is practical and day 2 assessment. The course is aimed at club players wanting to coach beginner groups.
Course involves all basic skills/fun games/coaching process/fitness sessions/online theory questions.
Assessment involves completing a workbook on safety aspects and lesson plans and a 15 minute practical session for 4 beginners.

There is a multiple choice test required and a practical assessment. 

LEVEL 2 LEAD COACH

This is a 3 day course aimed at coaches wanting to become club coaches working with intermediate players. Course involves intermediate/ advanced skills and various practices/video analysis/coaching intermediate groups and one to one sessions.

Assessment involves completing workbook on player profiling/progressive lesson plans/nutrition. A club 40 minute coaching session with 4 intermediate players. One to one coaching with video analysis.

LEVEL 3 HEAD COACH

This involves 2 weekends and 9 month logbook aimed at a coach operating as a Head Coach. Course is run by Table Tennis England (Details on TTE website) and involves recording your coaching process with a targeted group over 9 months. This is tutored by Gloucstershire University staff and additional relevant modules are offered.
