Scotland Earns Three Golds and Five Bronzes at Senior Schools International

The Senior Schools International event, held from June 28th to 30th in the Isle of Man, was a resounding success for Team Scotland. Our players demonstrated exceptional talent and determination, securing numerous medals and delivering remarkable performances across various categories.
Team Event Highlights
  • U18 Boys: The dynamic duo of Gavin Yuan and Bouri Chen clinched the gold medal by defeating England A with a score of 3-1.
  • U16 Girls: The pairing of Maja Wojcicka and Megan Mulhern battled hard to secure the bronze medal, overcoming Ireland A in the process.
  • U16 Boys: Ben Hart and Jakub Kryzostaniak earned a bronze medal after an intense match against Scotland B.
  • Under 14 Girls: Nichole Lee and Kiishi Adekola showed great teamwork to take home the bronze medal.
  • Under 14 Boys: Joe Mulhern and William Wang triumphed over England B with a 3-1 victory, securing the bronze medal.
Individual Achievements
  • U18 Category: Gavin Yuan emerged as the champion, defeating English opponent Fred Jones in the final to take the gold medal.
  • U14 Category: Joe Mulhern beat English player Kai Lun Chow in a thrilling final match to secure the gold medal.
  • U14 Singles: Nichole Lee and Kiishi Adekola both showcased their skills to earn bronze medals.Additionally, several Scottish players made significant progress in the main singles category:
  • Quarterfinalists: Nikki, Padma, Maja, Lucy, Ben Hart, Robbie, and Amelia advanced to the quarterfinals in their respective age categories.
  • Round of 16: Alex, William, Bohao, Jakub, and Ben S advanced to the round of 16, highlighting the depth of talent in the team.
