Table Tennis at the North Inch

A permanent outdoor Table Tennis table will be unveiled by the Council, in partnership with Table Tennis Scotland, on the North Inch in Perth today (Thursday 5 July).

The outdoor table, which was donated to the Council by Table Tennis Scotland, will be installed on the North Inch and members of the public will be able to play for free. People can bring along their own equipment to use the table, but bats and balls can also be borrowed for free from the Starters Hut at the North Inch Golf Course.

Councillor Angus Forbes, Convener of the Council’s Environment and Infrastructure Committee said: “There are already plenty of sporting activities that take place on at the North Inch and the installation of a Table Tennis table will only add to what’s on offer. It’s a fantastic idea and will help encourage people to get outdoors and live active and healthy lives.”

Richard Yule, Chief Operating Officer, Table Tennis Scotland commented: “Table Tennis is a great sport for all and we are delighted to be collaborating with Perth & Kinross Council in giving the people of Perth the opportunity to enjoy the sport in an outdoor setting in this unique location.”

The table is located next to the Petanque area of the North Inch (near the bowling green).
